The building that now houses Kunkel’s Korner was completed in 1890′s. It was a Gambles clothing store for many years, and in 1966 the building was purchased and reopened as a restaurant – “Larry and Mona’s”. The eatery became a favorite local meeting place, offering homestyle dishes in a friendly, classic diner atmosphere.
The restaurant was purchased by Mark and Stacy Kunkel after being closed for six months and was reopened as Kunkel’s Korner on December 13th 2003. Since that time, your hosts have made a number of updates and renovations while remaining sensitive to the history and appeal that made the restaurant so popular.
